Mark began his musical life as a child playing classical piano at the age of 5 years old. He rehearsed everyday for one to two hours, without any prompting from any adults. At the age of 12 he took up violin and practiced the violin dilegently for 3 years. Such discipline although grueling, pays off and we hear it in his ability to play intricate keyboard parts that add presence and structure to every song he plays.
And his ability to come up with the perfect part that enhances the mood of the song just right, is sheer genius. And the way he can compliment Franki's vocals makes for a perfect match of instrument and voice. And songs written by Mark and Franki have have the ear mark of the classical joining the pop.
